📚 Submission Guidelines

JP Brand Books | Rooted Stories. Resonant Voices.

At JP Brand Books, we champion independent voices and literary work grounded in place, folklore, memory, and cultural legacy. We are currently open to submissions and are excited to work with writers who share our passion for soulful, story-rich writing.

✍️ What We Publish

We’re interested in both fiction and creative nonfiction that reflects:

Fiction

Folk horror
Southern gothic
Historical fiction
Rural and regional storytelling
Speculative or literary fiction grounded in folklore or oral tradition

Nonfiction

Memoir with a strong sense of place
Cultural essays
Oral history projects
Family and community storytelling tied to land, heritage, or legacy

We’re especially drawn to work from underrepresented voices and communities, and to stories that honor the land, ancestral memory, or regional dialects and traditions.

📬 How to Submit

Please email your submission to jpbrandbooks@gmail.com with the subject line:
SUBMISSION – [Your Project Title]

Include the following:

A brief cover letter introducing yourself and your work
A 1-page synopsis
The first three chapters or up to 20 pages of your manuscript (PDF or Word preferred)

We review submissions on a rolling basis. Our typical response time is 6–8 weeks. If you don’t hear from us after that, feel free to follow up.

We are a boutique press, publishing a select number of titles per year to ensure every project receives focused editorial and design attention.
We offer collaborative editing, custom cover design, marketing support, and indie distribution.
We are not a vanity press—we never charge submission or publication fees.
